Ryo Tsuchiya, Dai Tsuchida and Masashi Sugawara have been announced as the new cast members of the original TV anime "Negative Postive Angler".
"Negative positive Angler" is a fishing-themed anime set to air in October. The newly announced cast will play employees of the Everymart convenience store where the protagonist, Sasaki Tsunehiro, works. Ryo Tsuchiya will voice Nishimori Kozue, a friendly part-timer who is new to fishing. Dai Tsuchida will play Machida, the indecisive and unreliable store manager. Masashi Sugawara will play Fujishiro, a mysterious clerk with extensive knowledge of fishing.
Comment from Rio Tsuchiya (role of Kozue Nishimori)
I'm Ryo Tsuchiya, and I'll be voicing Nishimori Kozue. I only went fishing once with my family as a child, so I learned a lot about fishing during the dubbing process, including technical terms. It was a really fun experience. Kozue is a sweet, ever-smiling girl whose charm makes even someone like me a little nervous. I admire her ability to carry herself so well. I hope you enjoy the cute expressions of these charming characters and the warm, cozy atmosphere of the show. Please look forward to it!

Comment from Dai Tsuchida (role of Machida)
It was quite challenging to find the right balance between casually delivering the line without going over or under. The atmosphere on set felt so real that at times, I found it hard to tell if I was acting or just being myself. This project has a unique vibe, and while it is centered around fishermen, as the title suggests, it is something I would recommend not only to fishing enthusiasts but also to those who have never fished before. In fact, working on this made me want to go fishing again after a long time. Learning life lessons through fishing… Stay tuned!

Comment from Masashi Sugawara (role of Fujishiro)
Conveying the essence of "fishing" through animation is no easy task. Capturing the vivid appearance of the fish, the gear used to catch them, and the unique movements of the angler is challenging. The water's surface, the underwater scenes, the surrounding landscape—all these elements must be carefully developed and integrated into the series. Any inaccuracies can easily turn off enthusiasts. However, this production excels in its attention to detail, from the meticulously drawn fishing gear and lures to the equipment specifics, terminology, and accents. It's a show that appeals not only to seasoned anglers but also to those who've never fished before. Who knows, watching it might just make you a better fisherman!

Tsuchiya explained that she only went fishing once with her family as a child, describing her character, "Kozue is a sweet girl who always has a smile on her face. Her charm is so adorable that even I find myself surprised by it." Tsuchiya encouraged both fishing enthusiasts and novices to watch the series, saying, "I recommend this movie to people who like fishing as well as people who have never done it before. Working on this project made me want to go fishing again after a long time." Sugawara highlighted the show's attention to detail, saying, "It's full of the production staff's dedication, from precisely designed rigs and lures to accurate equipment descriptions and terminology." "Negative positive Angler" tells the story of Tsunehiro, a college student who is heavily in debt and has an illness that leaves him with only two years to live. His encounters with fishing lead him to profound personal growth and meaningful relationships. Tsunehiro is voiced by Mutsumi Iwanaka, and the animation is produced by Studio NUT, known for its work on the film "Blue Giant".
