On August 16, Japanese publisher Kadokawa revealed that SunSunSun's romantic comedy light novel series Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian has surpassed a total of five million copies in print.
The print edition of the series has been published under Kadokawa's Sneaker Bunko light novel imprint since February 2021, with nine volumes released so far (eight main series volumes and one short-story collection). This marks the first time in the 35-year history of the imprint, which began in 1989, that a romantic comedy series has exceeded five million copies in print.
The TV anime adaptation of the novel premiered in Japan in July 2024. When the release of the anime's first Blu-ray volume was announced, the series' total circulation had reportedly reached 2.6 million copies, according to Kadokawa STORE.
